Community, Sport, Business, life in general
So, people can make a contribution for many reasons, to make a difference, to give back, to initiate change, for personal gain or satisfaction, because they can, the list and variations go on.
I do it because I was educated by my father that life is about helping each other when and if you can, you should always attempt to assist the group, community, club or individual be the best version of them they can.
Do we get confused along the way, do the lines blur, does good intent sometimes get overtaken by glory or personal gain?
The trick here is to evaluate regularly and recalibrate on your thinking and delivery. It should never be about you. It is always hard to assess where that line occurs however.
In the end you need mentor's and friends, people you can call on to honestly ask you the hard questions (usually the simple one of why?) to ensure you stay on message, on journey and achieve.
